How do you sew crochet material?
I am finishing a crocheted shrug (pattern: http://www.lionbrand.com/patterns/60040.html), and it instructs me to sew closed the arms. Do I do this with the same yarn I used to crochet and a big blunt needle, or with thinner thread and a regular needle? Anything else I should know? I was looking for a tutorial but haven't been able to find one.
Use the same yarn that you made it with and you don't need a large needle just use one the you can get the yarn into and then weave it together. Here is a site with different types of stitches you might want to put in your favorites so you can find it should you need it again.
