how do u learn to sew on?
im getting a sewing machine for Christmas and I was wondering is there anyway to get to model-based sewing senior ... Not only that but also how to read patterns ... im sure i can learn to thread the sewing machine, atleast I hope I can ... but is there any way I can learn all this without having to pay to go to class? as it may be a dvd uve purchases you found useful or site? thanks
Sure is. Connie Crawford's Studio sewing skills will take you to thread a sewing machine through building a campshirt, and also includes sewing basics, such as insertion techniques zipper. HOWEVER http://www.butterick.com/list/connie_crawford/page-3.htm, it is very helpful to have someone around who sews check your layout template and cutting ... inaccuracies it may cause problems with actual construction. Crawford DVD is basically the first sewing end to fashion school - she is a retired teacher of sewing, pattern making and draping at FIDM. I have a couple of beginners to work through this time, and doing credible work - they come to me for work more advanced later.
