take a sock and cut trousers the heel and toes. This is the knitting pattern I'm looking
use a model of socks in the style you want, but when it comes to shaping the heel fold the number of stitches on the heel requires a line and the next row cast on the same number of stitches. Just leave it a hole where the heel and would allow it to pass under the foot. Then when it comes to foot part just cast off. - This will leave the toes exposed. If you find underpart foot too long (from heel to toe), just 10 lines of work that is less than is needed on the ground. That should give you the type of legwarmer you are looking for.
