Can anyone help knitting instructions?
It all started afghan "Celtic tradition" of "Big Needle Knit Afghans" for a Christmas gift. I do not know if I am, dumb or design is bad, but it does not work for me. Cast of 165 m. Knit 7 rows garter. Patron - 1 Knit & Last 7 m garter .. Lines 1, 3 and 5, the knit lines 2 & 4: P3, k2, * p5, k2, rep from * to the end of the last rehearsal p3. (When I arrived after last p5, k2, I have 13 more points or 6 my 7 garter border.) Rows 6 & 8 (K2, sl 1) to two occasions, * k3, sl 1, k2, sl 1, rep from * to the end of last repeat k2. (I think I need 6 points to end k2, but there are only 5 + 7 on the needle.) Row 7 works with - P2, sl 1, k2, sl 1, * p3, sl 1, k2, sl 1, rep from * to the end of the last repetition * P2. Row 9: K2, C4, * k3, c4, representing around, end last repeat k2. (There are 5 + 7 points, not 2 + 7. Row 10 repeats the line 2. I do not know if I'm reading this wrong, but I'm stuck, and I am dreading taking my work. Can anyone help?
hmmm ... I just tried to do the math for you, and actors needed to definitely do not meet guidelines. So the number of CO is incorrect, or instructions borders are incorrect and / or repetition of the pattern is incorrect. I also googled the book and corrections, and came up with this link: http://www.drgbooks.com/knitting/corrections1.html According to this link, it says that the correct CO for Celtic traditions should be 162. However, from what you have provided the math still does not. The editor of counting the repetition of the pattern as 7 +1, which might work if there are no boundaries. If there were no boundaries on the sides, with a CO 162 st you let non-repetition 8 m and 7 m repeat (21 repeats) for lines 2, 4, 6-9. But you noted there is a reason for the border on the sides where you knit the first and last 7 sts (8 m in total). Anyway, I played a bit with the math a little, and it seems like you could do work if you run on 156 m, on the basis of the borders and with the 10 lines you posted. (This would also make sense if the composer reversed the numbers.) With a st CO 156, it works for lines 2, 4, 6-9, you would have 8 m from the border, 8 m non-repeated 7 m and repeat 20 times. Now before you start trying this, I suggest you check the calculation on the rest of the model, just in case there are other errors. I seems that this book is chock full of errors. Hope this helped you! Good luck
