What is this Japanese crochet symbol mean?
I'm trying to do this pattern and I understand a good majority of the pattern. I'm having trouble figuring out the circle in the pattern below. It either means dec. or skip but I'm not sure. Can someone help me?

Since I can't decide which stitch you are referring to - Japanese patterns have a consistent symbology - so a blacked out circle is a skip - a decrease is a V shape showing which stitch is used for the decrease - no bars - sc one bar dc - two bars 3 dc. The oval is a chain. The circle is on the pattern and explained - it is a unique explanation.
