For row 1 it tells you to chain two stitches. That will become the foundation, in which you will work the six stitches . The six stitches will form the first row, in a circle, when you join the last stitch to the first. Then you will chain up to the next row - row two.

The main thing is to remember to try and keep your tension pretty firm. IF it is too loose then the stuffing will show between the stitches.
