Circular knitting needles?
I bought bamboo circular knitting needles that I absolutely loved. They were so smooth to knit with. However, they broke! They were from Amazon, Oriental Touch. The first time they broke, I contacted them and got a replacement pair. Now they have broken again and I'm looking for something more reliable. I've heard metal might be a better bet, but I still want the smoothness of bamboo. Thank you for any advice!
The needles are size 15.
You may want to try another brand of bamboo needles, such as those from Clover. But Addi Naturas are a wood needle and very nice, although pricey. If you like straight needles Brittancy birch straights are gorgeous to work with. I have not used the KnitPicks wooden needles, but many people love them. Personally, I prefer Brittany birch dpns and Addi Turbos (metal) circular needles. These are, IMO, the top of the line needles, and while fairly expensive, I've had some of these needles nearly 12 years without a problem.
I should add that what you probably like about bamboo is that the yarns don't slide off it them easily. This is because the surface of the needle has *tooth* or grab to it. Wooden needles, birch, ebony, etc., share this quality of tooth, as do plastic and nylon needles, if you can deal with the yarn squeaking on it. Metal needles of all types are far smoother and more slippery. Matching your needle type to the slipperiness of the yarn is always a good idea
